COMPLIANCE SERVICES WITH THE REGULATION ON THE CLASSIFICATION, LABELING AND PACKAGING OF SUBSTANCES AND MIXTURES<\/p>\n

In 2013, the Regulation on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures (SEA Regulation) was published, with the aim of aligning with the European CLP Regulation and guaranteeing a high level of health and safety protection. environment, as well as the free movement of substances, mixtures and articles.<\/p>\n

The SEA Regulation applies to all chemicals placed on the Turkish market, regardless of quantity and classified as dangerous: these substances must be notified to the inventory of classifications and labeling – C&L Notification – within one month from the first day of import or export.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An update to the SEA Regulation was published in 2020, however substances and mixtures placed on the market before 1 January 2023 will benefit from a transition period<\/strong> for the application of the new criteria, and be classified and labeled in accordance with the regulation before the update.<\/p>\n

The main points of the update can be summarized as follows:
\n– Article 2 has been amended and the word “dangerous” has been removed causing a significant change in the SEA C&L notification obligation.
\n– While the SEA Regulation was in line with the 4th ATP of the CLP Regulation, with this update the ATPs 5-6-7-8-9-10-11-13 were also applied for better alignment with the regulatory environment of the EU.
\n– The obligation to notify the Poison Control Center is introduced starting from 1 January 2025.<\/p>\n
